Our mission is to make reading accessible for every child
Our Mission
We believe every child can learn to read — including children with Down syndrome, autism spectrum disorders, cerebral palsy, speech delays, and other developmental differences. Reading opens doors to understanding the world, communication, and independence. And we want those doors to be open for everyone.
CanReadNow was created to make the scientifically-based global reading method accessible to families worldwide. This methodology, grounded in decades of neuropsychological research, has proven effective for children with various developmental differences. Now it is available in a digital format — convenient, modern, and always at hand.
Cardboard flashcards are a thing of the past. They are tedious to make, easy to lose, and impossible to track progress with. CanReadNow's digital tools replace stacks of paper cards: automatic audio, precise display timing, statistics and reports — all of this makes learning more effective and easier for parents.
Our goal is that no child with special needs is left without the opportunity to learn to read due to a lack of accessible tools. Technology should serve families.
How the Platform Works
A scientifically-based global reading method, adapted for digital format
Whole-Word Recognition
The child memorizes each word as a complete visual image — without breaking it into letters. This scientifically-based approach is especially effective for children with developmental differences who process visual information better.
Sliding Window System
5 categories of 5 words — 25 active words at any time. As words are mastered, they are replaced with new ones. The algorithm automatically determines the optimal pace of progress.
850+ Words in 3 Languages
A carefully curated vocabulary in Russian, English, and Hebrew — from simple nouns to verbs and adjectives. 17 thematic categories: family, body, food, animals, and more.
Multi-Sensory Approach
Large text, clear high-contrast font, category color coding, professional audio for every word — visual and auditory channels are engaged simultaneously.
Why We Built This
CanReadNow was created by parents of children with special needs. We know firsthand what it is like to search for reading tools when standard methods do not work. We have been through it all: hours of cutting paper flashcards, trying to organize stacks of words, the inability to track what a child has already learned.
Paper flashcards are exhausting: they must be made by hand, they crumple, get lost, and when a child outgrows a set — you start all over. Meanwhile, it is impossible to objectively assess progress or share results with a specialist. We decided there had to be a better way.
Professional speech therapists, special education experts, and rehabilitation specialists helped develop the CanReadNow curriculum. Every word, every category, every content delivery algorithm is the result of collaboration between the technical team and experts in special education.
We are convinced: technology should serve families, not complicate life. That is why we made CanReadNow as simple as possible — open the app, start a session, and the system takes care of the rest.
